Leicester City host Liverpool in the Premier League on Tuesday night, with Jurgen Klopp's side looking to close the gap at the top while the Foxes will be hoping for a much-needed win

Liverpool take on Leicester City for the second time in the space of a week as the Reds look to keep the pressure on leaders Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp ’s side were out of action on Boxing Day, after their fixture with Leeds United was cancelled after a Covid-19 outbreak at Elland Road.

The postponement means Liverpool avoided the tricky task of playing twice in 48 hours with Klopp a vocal critic of the hectic fixture schedule.

Leicester meanwhile are coming off the back of a defeat to Man City on Sunday, losing 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool find themselves six points behind City having played a game fewer, while the Foxes are currently 10th and in the midst of a relatively disappointing campaign.

Leicester City v Liverpool takes place at 20.00 on Tuesday night at the Foxes’ King Power Stadium.
This round of Premier League fixtures will be exclusively shown on Amazon Prime, with the game in the East Midlands the final offering.

Prime subscribers will be able to stream the game through the Prime Video App or on smart televisions.
Klopp is set to welcome back four players who missed the cup game with the Foxes after testing positive for Covid.

Virgil van Dijk, Curtis Jones, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are all back in training and in contention to start.

Andy Robertson will be absent, serving the second of his three-game suspension after being sent off at Tottenham.

Leicester meanwhile could be without a host of first team players, with Brendan Rodgers confirming Ricardo Pereira had suffered a fractured fibula following a tackle by Tyler Morton.

Pereira is the latest name to be on the sidelines for Leicester, joining Patson Daka, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Danny Ward and Harvey Barnes.

Jamie Vardy was only fit enough for the bench against City last time out, but could be in line to start.

Liverpool have a chance to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City as they take on Leicester City this evening.

Clearly, Jurgen Klopp has a game in hand on Pep Guardiola but the statement Manchester City set on Boxing Day by beating Brendan Rodgers’ side 6-3 will be a tough one to match.

Indeed, Liverpool have it all to do in the title race as things stand.

Six points with a game in hand might not seem like a mountain climb but the kind of standards both Klopp and Guardiola have set over the last few years are so high, relying on any kind of slip-up is a risky game.

So, perhaps a Leicester side coming off of such a big beating represent the best of oppositions.

Leicester City are back in action on Tuesday night when they welcome Liverpool to the King Power Stadium for the second meeting between the two sides in the space of a week.

The sides met in the Carabao Cup last week after a dramatic Reds win in the penalty shootout which saw Jurgen Klopp's men advance to the semi-finals of the competition.

While the Foxes fell to a 6-3 defeat in the hands of leaders Manchester City last time out, Liverpool have not been in action since then as their Boxing Day match against Leeds United was postponed due to COVID-19 cases in the opposition ranks.
